DOMINO EFFECT

I AM CONSTANTLY SOURCING IMAGES OF THIERRY MUGLER GARMENTS FOR REFERENCE. YOU'D BE SURPRISED HOW HARD IT IS TO GET GREAT, CLEAR IMAGES OF MUSCLE-MUGLER'S FASHION CREATIONS. THE TWO GARMENTS PICTURED HERE ARE SIMPLE DRAPED WHITE COTTON, PROBABLY OFF-THE-RACK. STILL, NO ONE DOES IT LIKE THIERRY. THESE PIECES ARE SO OLD HOLLYWOOD-GRECIAN GODESS. I USED THE FLIP/ROATE THING TO MAKE THEM INTO A PIECE WHERE YOU CAN NEVER TELL WHICH SIDE IS UP.

FASTER, SPIDER-WOMAN, KILL KILL!!!

A NEWLY RENDERED TRIO OF SUPER-HAWT-SUPER-BABES: SPIDER-WOMAN, Ms. MARVEL AND MARY MARVEL (no relation).

I REALLY THINK SPIDER-WOMAN HAS ONE OF THE BEST DESIGNS FOR A FEMALE SUPER-HERO COSTUME ( WONDER WOMAN, PHOENIX AND HARLEY QUINN ARE RIGHT UP THERE TOO). IT REALLY GIVES YOU A SENSE OF HOW MYSTERIOUS AND CREEPY AND POWERFUL SHE IS ALL AT 1st GLANCE.

I NEVER HAVE BEEN THAT MUCH OF A FAN OF MARY MARVEL BUT I LIKE HOW SHE IS ETERNALLY OPTIMISTIC AND CHEERFUL. Ms. MARVEL IS A CHARACTER THAT HAS REALLY COME INTO HER OWN OVER THE LAST 5 YEARS OR SO. SHE IS NOW A FORCE TO BE RECKONED WITH INSTEAD OF A BAD FEMALE RIP-OFF OF CAPTAIN MARVEL.

THIS RUG'S UN-BEARABLE!

1ST OFF, YOU HAVE TO EXCUSE THAT AWFUL PUN IN THE TITLE. I WAS FEELING CHEESY TODAY. . .

I CAN'T TELL YOU HOW LONG IT'S TAKEN ME TO FINALLY ADD COLOR TO THIS PIECE. I DREW IT A WHILE BACK AND IT'S BEEN HANGIN' AROUND MY 'TO DO' BOX EVER SINCE. I REALLY LIKE THE WAY THE COMPOSITION AND MOTIFS WORKED OUT, SO I'M GLAD IT'S FINALLY FINISHED.

THE LOVELY LADY ON THE RUG IS WEARING A VIVIENNE WESTWOOD MINI-CRINI, CORSET AND HARRIS TWEED CROWN, COMPLETE WITH 'ROCKING HORSE' SHOES. I USED THE SWORDS FROM WESTWOOD'S 'ANGLOMANIA' LABEL AS A GRAPHIC DECORATION ALL AROUND THE FIGURE. THEY ADD AN EXTRA SURREAL QUALITY I THINK. AND FINALLY THAT GREAT BEAR SKIN RUG. I USED SCANNED SOME FUR FROM AN OLD COAT TO USE AS AN ACCENT AROUND THE RUG. THEN I CHANGED THE COLOR OF THE FUR FROM BROWN TO BLUE-ISH.

I THINK EVERY KRAZY FASHION CHICK SHOULD POSE ON A BEAR SKIN RUG FROM TIME TO TIME. IT RAISES HER CLASS LEVEL, DUH!

GIBSON GHUURRL

AH, THE GIBSON GIRL. THE ORIGINAL BATHING BEAUTY (ALLBEIT FULLY CLOTHED AND WITH A HAT ON!). THE ARTWORK OF THIS MODERN SPORTY GIRL WAS ORIGINALLY DRAWN BY CHARLES DANA GIBSON AT THE TURN OF THE CENTURY AND WAS CONSIDERED THE FASHION PLATE OF HER TIME. ALL MODERN WOMEN WANTED TO BE LIKE A GIBSON GIRL; ACTIVE, MYSTERIOUS, ALLURING, ADVENTUROUS.

IN COLLEGE I HAD TO DO A PROJECT WHERE WE WERE ASKED TO UPDATE AN OLD CLOTHING ITEM OR IDEA AND MAKE IT NEW AND MODERN. I CHOSE TO UPDATE BOTH THE GIBSON GIRL, AND THE IDEA OF THE ACTIVE, MODERN WOMAN. MY GIBSON GIRL USES HER REINVENTED BOXING GLOVE AS AN ALL PURPOSE FASHION ACCESSORY/DEFENSE IVE TOOL. THE SILHOUETTE OF THE GLOVE IS MUCH LIKE HER'S, LARGE AND ROUNDED ON TOP AND MORE SLIM AT THE BOTTOM. WHILE THE OLD FASHIONED GIBSON GIRL PLAYS TENNIS AND GETS INVOLVED IN THE ARTS, MY GIBSON GIRL FIGHTS IN A CAGE BRAWL AND SPRAY'S GRAFFITI AROUND THE 'HOOD!
NEEDLESS TO SAY, THEY DIDN'T GET IT. VIVA LA SAINT MARTINS. =P

ATTACK!!!!!

THIS COMIC BOOK INSPIRED PIECE WAS DONE TO GO ALONG WITH A FASHION COLLECTION MY FRIEND JASPER GARVIDA HAD DONE. HE HAD MADE SOME MUSLIN DRESSES BASED ON THIS WACKY SAMURAI-AFRO-PUFF IDEA AND I DID SOME ART WORK TO DEMONSTRATE THE THEME IN ACTION.

I REALLY LIKE DRAWING OTHER PEOPLE'S CLOTHING SO I ALWAYS JUMP AT THE CHANCE TO DO IT WHEN ASKED. I REALLY LIKE THE HYPED-UP GREEN AND BLUE COLORS IN THE PANELS. I JUST OVER SATURATED IT WITH CHEAP KIDS WATERCOLORS. THAT ALWAYS WORKS NICELY.

TIGHTS AND FIGHTS!!!

SINCE I SEEM TO BE DRAWING AND POSTING SO MANY SUPER-LADIES LATELY I SHOULD EXPLAIN WHY I AM DOING THEM. I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN INTO SUPER-HERO COSTUMES. STARTING WITH LYNDA CARTER AS WONDER WOMAN ON TV WHEN I WAS A KIDDIE, I'VE ALWAYS LIKED THE IDEA THAT THESE GIRLS FIGHT BAD GUYS IN A SWIMSUIT AND HIGH HEELS. IT'S SUCH A MAN'S FANTASY. VERY IMPRACTICAL. BUT THEREIN LIES THE FUN!
SOMETIMES I TRY TO DOODLE A CERTAIN SUPER WOMAN AND THEN REALIZE THAT I CANNOT FIND A HALF WAY DECENT PICTURE OF WHAT HER ENTIRE COSTUME LOOKS LIKE. THIS PERTAINS MORE TO THE LESSER CHARACTERS THEN THE FAMOUS ONES LIKE WONDER WOMAN AND STORM. SO, I STARTED THIS NEW PROJECT FOR MYSELF OF DOCUMENTING THE OUTFITS OF THE DC AND MARVEL COMICS SUPER-HEROINES. HOPEFULLY WHEN I'M DONE I'LL HAVE A HUGE ARCHIVE OF IMAGES AND A BETTER IDEA OF HOW THESE CHICKS PICK OUT THEIR CRIME FIGHTING GEAR.

THAT SAID, HERE ARE HARLEY QUINN, KILLER FROST, DR. LIGHT AND CLEA.
